A Taste of Tuscany Right in Newton

In a huge city like Boston and the suburbs surrounding, it isn't always easy to find restaurants cooking Authentic, delicious cuisine. Locals know the deal: If you want Chinese you go to Chinatown, if you want Italian you go to the North End, and so on and so forth. But what if you're outside the city and you're craving some yummy Italian food? We might have found exactly what you're looking for right in Chestnut Hill Square.

Brio Tuscan Grille

Originally opening up shop in late 2013, Brio Tuscan Grille has since provided some of the best Italian eats in the area to Newton and Greater Boston residents alike. Focusing on dishes from the Tuscan region of Italy, diners can choose from selections such as Chicken Limone, Shrimp and Lobster Fettucine, and even a gluten-free Pasta Primavera. Those watching their figure will also appreciate their "Light Menu", featuring dishes under 595 calories such as Shrimp Mediterranean and even a Pasta Pesto with angel hair, grilled chicken, caramelized onions, basil, tomatoes, roasted peppers, Feta and spinach.

The restaurant itself is perhaps best known for scratch making all of their dishes, while other chains choose to serve pre-prepared food. Not Brio- in fact, the Chefs and cooks of the kitchen come in early every morning to receive deliveries of fresh produce, seafood and meats every day. Not only can customers taste the difference of these fresh ingredients, but it also allows for more flexibility with the menu.

"If there is nothing on the menu someone may be in the mood for, we can cook a dish special just for them based on what they might be in the mood for", says General Manager Ross R. Kirchner.

Perhaps one of the strengths of Brio is their extensive menu- full of options that cater to each individual's tastes. For colder nights, Brio has plenty of soups that will warm you up before you dig into their signature Pasta Brio with rigatoni, grilled chicken, and mushrooms in their special homemade sauce, or bite into a juicy steak. Don't forget to wash it all down with one of their delectable red wine selections. With over thirty different choices, wine lovers will love finding out which selections go best with their meal. Now that it is getting close to Summer, don't forget about those lighter dishes on the menu. With customer favorites like Grilled Salmon Fresca with grilled asparagus, sweet potatoes, spinach, roasted peppers, Feta, pesto vinaigrette, diced tomatoes and balsamic glaze, or Blackened Tilapia, you're sure to have a delicious meal and still fit into your skinny jeans the next day! "Overall the most popular appetizer would be our Bruschetta Quatro and most popular dessert is our Torta di Cioccolata- that being a warm chocolate lava cake topped with vanilla gelato, crème anglaise, and finished with a chocolate drizzle", says Kirchner.


Brio Tuscan Grille continuously defies the assumption that chain restaurants provide food that is lacking in flavor, and a menu that is lacking in variety. The Chef, cooks, and staff at Newton's location truly care about the customer's experience and strive to create delicious, unique recipes that utilize only the freshest of ingredients.
