Find a Wholesome Breakfast and Strong Coffee at Fuel America

There is nothing like good, strong coffee and a hearty breakfast to start your day. Cafe Fuel America has mastered the art of coffee and early morning foods. Its two locations in Boston and Brighton are scrambling to feed hungry customers, and to brew their famous drip coffee, espresso drinks, and loose leaf teas. Fuel America was started with working men and women in mind, and celebrates the American can-do spirit.

Managing partner at Fuel America Jeff Bonasia began working on the concept for the business starting in 2010. It took him and his team another two years before they opened the cafe's first location in Brighton.

They didn't want to create just another coffee house, especially in Boston, which is riddled with them. Instead, they envisioned a place that would make people feel nostalgic for simpler days, comfortable, and unrushed, and where they could sample classic and modern coffees, teas, sandwiches, salads and power beverages.

"First and foremost, we celebrate our customers--the great American melting pot," exclaims Bonasia. The interior of Fuel America also reflects the American spirit, with black and white photos of working men and women from the turn of the century. The modern industrial aesthetic pays homage to the past while looking toward the future. The past comes alive inside the cafe, and brings the unifying theme of the American spirit to the fore.

Fuel America is famous for its custom-made coffees like their single origin pour over, cold brew, the fuel regular, and the more traditional cappuccino, macchiato, Americano, cortado, and latte. For those looking for a different kind of boost, they offer their power drinks like the Mint Aid, Basil Orange Lime, Cucumber Ginger, and Earth Tonic--all made with fresh, wholesome ingredients like organic agave nectar, Persian lime juice, honey, nutmeg, and basil.

"We have better-for-you seltzer drinks and all our milks in our espresso drinks are locally sourced from Shaw Farm Dairy in Dracut, MA," points out Bonasia. They even sell Shaw Farm milk in glass bottles, which you can return for a deposit.

The food menu is simple, plentiful, and offers some very nutritious options. Whether you want a full-fledged omelet and bacon breakfast or something lighter, like the Ricotta and Honey toast, Fuel America can meet your needs.

Fuel America has recently begun selling its bagged coffees--whole bean and drip grind--at local Market Basket stores, and will make them available at all Market Basket supermarkets over the next six months. Additionally, the cafe offers catering and is notably one of the Red Sox's preferred caterers.
