Find Lasting Wellness at Massage Loft of New England

By Marina I. Jokic

Upon completing her state board certification in 2008 which entailed 1000 hours of training, Ashleigh Dundas became a licensed massage therapist and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. Certified to practice in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut, she is the proud owner of Massage Loft of New England located in Pembroke, Massachusetts.

Growing up in New Hampshire, Dundas was instinctively drawn to the outdoors and a healthy lifestyle. She received her first massage at the age of 16 and immediately recognized it as a potently therapeutic experience.

Implementing a holistic wellness approach, Dundas considers massage therapy an indelible aspect of healing the body. In addition to massage, Dundas has training in health, nutrition, Reiki, and Ayurvedic treatments. In fact, she has trained at the John Harvey Gray Center for Reiki Healing under Dr. John and Lourdes Gray's tutelage as well as at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

"My practice is a soft landing amongst all the busy of life," Dundas said. "Massage therapy is one of the oldest forms of medicine and goes well beyond pampering; for many of us, using and relying on our bodies to function at a high capacity or even just to feel good in general is a necessary part of a health care regimen."

At Massage Loft of New England, you are provided with a customizable treatment plan which is adjusted to your body type and individual problems or areas of concern. This plan is intended to address the nervous system, to reduce stress, and provide pain relief and enhanced mobility. Dundas likes to blend several types of therapies including Swedish, myofascial, craniosacral, and deep tissue massage to achieve a soothing, methodical way of promoting a rejuvenating experience for her clients.

"It's rare that I work with clients without any form of anxiety [which] can present itself in a variety of ways," Dundas said. "My clients with acute and chronic stress, anxiety, and all the ailments that can manifest from those conditions make progress, feel better, and typically implement regular massage into their self-care routines."

In a fast-paced world, our senses are consistently oversaturated and we are often habituated to unhealthy postures. Massage Loft of New England seeks to provide relief from this saturation by relieving musculoskeletal pains, improving flexibility and providing an overall tune-up to the entire body.
