Five Best Towns for Investors in Berkshire County

By Tiffany Raiford

What makes an investment home a great opportunity for investors is the ability to rent or resell a property in a short amount of time. Throughout Berkshire County there are five specific areas in which investors will find it profitable to invest. These areas are great for investors because they are where people want to live, which is exactly what investors want; a place where they can quickly turn a profit from because people are eager to live in that particular community.

Richmond

What makes Richmond such a great location for investors is the fact that it's a community in which upscale living is commonplace. Estate living is popular here, though many are older and in need of remodeling. Since the newly wealthy and the young professionals enjoying a recent boost in income are looking to make this established neighborhood home, investors can pick up estate homes in need of renovations at a decent price and turn them around as grand, move-in ready homes in no time at all.

Pittsfield

With GE's homebase located not far away and a school system that spends twice as much as any other school system in the country on students, families are looking to make the move to Pittsfield. The homes are established and lovely and with so much to offer in terms of a great education and employment opportunities, it's the prime spot for young families. Investors can make young families happy by taking older homes and modernizing them to create homes that are move-in ready and more attractive. It's an investors dream town.

Great Barrington

What makes Great Barrington a great location for investors is the fact that it's a prime spot for vacationers and those looking for a second home. Close to ski resorts and winter activities, this area of Berkshire County is very desirable. By picking up a few of the older homes and converting them to homes that sleep more guests and accommodate those looking to have a good time in a resort-like setting, investors can make a significant profit in this area.

Egremont

It's here that investors can pick up an old farmhouse on a large piece of land for next to nothing. It'll need some work, but that's what investors are looking for. Since many families want to experience a bit of rural living close to the city, it's the perfect location for families who want to have a little bit of everything. A converted, modernized or contemporary farmhouse is just what buyers are looking for.

Williamstown

With its national ranking as one of the top 100 places to live, this Berkshire County town is full of potential. People everywhere are looking to call this beautiful little city home and by picking up a home in need of some work, investors are going to attract buyers who want to live here but don't want to spend the time needed to remodel an existing home.

Berkshire County features an array of cities and towns that make an investor's job easy. Not many of the homes need so much work that the task is impossible, but enough need work that investors will have something to do and a quick way to profit.
