For Chocolate Lovers Only

A wise man once said that when you do what you love, you never work a day in your life. Have you ever had a passion that you wish you could use to replace the day to day grind? Do you dream of spending 8 hours a day practicing the violin or creating a replica Civil War battlefield instead of trading staplers in Martha's cubicle at the office? Two sisters in Quincy have found a way to live the dream; they do what they love. Christina Bartkus and her sister, Lisa Trifone, achieved this form of when they opened an artisan chocolate shop right down the hill from their family home.

Like many artisans and food lovers of any stripe, Christina and Lisa come by their passion for confectionary artistry honestly. Growing up, the sisters spent much of their time with their mother, Geri, and inherited her appreciation for all kinds of sweets, treats and various forms of sugary culinary goodness. It was also from their dear mother that the sisters learned the importance of ingredients when making candies and other tasty snacks and got many of their ideas for putting together their treats. The sisters are still very much connected to family and the local community in Quincy; their shop is just down the hill from their family's home and the apartment the sisters share.

The sisters' dedicated and passionate pursuit of perfection, unique sense of confectionary style and their exquisite taste for the best chocolates have served them well. Purefections chocolate shop has been featured on two of the most popular outlets for those on the journey toward the perfect flavor: the Food Network and the Cooking channel! A big part of the secret to Purefections' success is the chocolate they use. A thorough search for the finest chocolate brought them to a Belgian that they came to combine with their family recipes and original ideas to synthesize a perfect blend of the best materials and original ways to use them. Purefections' most popular offerings are their P2C2: an original combination of chocolate, caramel, peanut and potato and their Lager Tararuga. Though the sisters have plenty of chocolates ready for purchase, they also take custom orders for a variety of occasions like weddings or birthdays with custom colors, packaging and the like. Holidays are so busy for Purefections that customers should call in if they want to schedule a time to come in and pick up orders but during the week, normally, the shoppe is open Tuesday through Friday. Purefections has a top knotch website but don't let it fool you, these ladies have a lot more in store: as Christina says "on our website are really just our signature products but if you come into the store there's some much more than that."

Purefections features the perfect blend of family oriented artisanal goodness, creative experimentation and the finest ingredients. The combination of home recipes and the influences of the sisters' different areas of expertise make Purefections truly unique. If you find yourself in Quincy or need some creative, customized snacks for any occasion be sure to check our Purefections chocolate shoppe.
