Lisa Fischer Fulfilling Her Photography Dream

By Jake Levin

Clients come to Lisa Fischer Photography because they are impressed with her work, but they stay for the relationship they have developed with her.

The Milton-based photographer has found her calling after working for many years in the nonprofit world. Since her teenage years, Fischer said she's always been known as the person with the camera. It was nothing more than a passionate hobby of hers for many years, however, until she finally decided to open up her own studio centered on portraits and events.

"Time flies by quickly," Fischer said. "Children grow up and are gone. A family portrait keeps them in front view whether they are living at home under your feet or have grown up and started a family of their own. And in these hectic days, we all need reminders of smiling faces of the people we love and cherish. A family portrait does just that."

Fischer loves people, finding them interesting and finding beauty and value in each and everyone. It's bringing these qualities out in her photography which makes it all worth it for her.

Repeat customers are common for Fischer, because she takes the time to get to know the people she speaks of on a personal level.

"There is always a reason people want a portrait at that particular time, and I want to know why," Fischer said. "Every portrait has a story to tell, and I want to be able to convey that in the final work of art."

It all starts with her very first conversation with a prospective client. Fischer helps them select a location and clothing for their portrait before assisting them in choosing which image from the shoot will become the final draft, and caps it off by helping the subject pick out a frame which will perfectly accent the photograph.

"In these hectic days, we all need reminders of smiling faces of the people we love and cherish," Fischer said. "A family portrait does just that."

And since she's located in New England, after all, Fischer also offers up scenic landscape photographs she's taken to help decorate homes and offices.

Details of Fischer's work are available on her studio's website, at
