Ocean Views and Fresh Seafood at the Waterfront Bar & Grill

What better way to end a day's sightseeing in Plymouth MA than at a waterfront restaurant, with the lights of the bay twinkling in the night and a delicious seafood menu in front of you? If that sounds about right, the Waterfront Bar and Grill is the place to go. The casual waterfront restaurant with American food and a strong focus on fresh seafood has numerous seating areas, which offer settings for quiet dining or an impromptu party, making it suitable for any occasion. There is outdoor seating on two levels, with a deck and an upstairs patio, as well as an outdoor raw bar.

General Manager John Masotta Jr. describes the ambience: "Located on Plymouth's historic waterfront offering spectacular ocean views, right down the street from the Mayflower and Plymouth Rock. Be sure to check out our spacious upstairs 40 seat bar with great views of Plymouth Harbor.

Our dining room downstairs is a great spot for intimate dining, or the perfect spot to host your next event, which offers ocean views as well as its own private bar. In the summer months we offer plenty of outside seating on our deck and patio." The restaurant has Plymouth's only outdoors raw bar, with native Duxbury oysters and little-necks shucked and served to order. And there is the justly famous colossal shrimp cocktail with a unique zesty sauce.

As well as seafood, the menu offers appetizers, salads, steaks and sandwiches. Masotta recommends seafood for new guests: "First time guests visiting the Waterfront should try our baked scrod, grilled salmon. lobster mac & cheese or our seafood alfredo if looking to dine on fresh seafood. Other great entrees worth trying is our braised short rib, statler chicken risotto or our 12oz C.A.B. (Certified Angus Beef) New York sirloin just to name a few." Chef Robbie Harriman rules the kitchen, preparing steaks, scallops, scrod, salmon, swordfish and the daily specials. As befitting a south shore native, his speciality is stuffed quahog.

Another popular choice with guests is Sunday brunch offered between 11 am and 2 pm. There is live music every night during the summer, and after 9 pm, the floor is opened for dancing. Many of the musicians, like Hitch and Charlie, Rahman and Friends, and Nick Pangakis are popular south shore performers and have been playing here for years. With quiet seating areas as well all the necessary accompaniments for a night of revelry, the restaurant is a perfect setting for a quiet date night or a noisy family party, and everything in between.

It's also a great location for a special event. The function room has seating space for 25 to 55 guests, ocean views and a private bar. The restaurant's motto is "fun, fresh and affordable" and it has lived up to this since opening in 2010. With a variety of seating areas, entertainment and menu offerings, it has something for everyone.
