Whether you're new to camping or looking for an experience that has elements of home mixed with camping, Pinewood Lodge has something for you. The Plymouth, MA campground, function hall and RV park has areas for tents and offers a range of rental units to fit any camper's needs. Pinewood Lodge President James Saunders says the campground has many of the same amenities of home with the feel of the outdoors. As a family business going into their fourth generation, the staff has tried to create a space where your family can truly feel at home.
"We offer different types of rental units from basic cabins up to cottages with all the comforts of home," Saunders says. "If you are new to camping or simply seek to stay in something which is more like home, one of our rental unites might perfectly suit your tastes."
The buildings themselves are rustic, built from knotty pine wood that was salvaged from hurricanes in 1938 and 1942. Cottages start as small yurts and get as big as a lake house with a full kitchen, multiple bedrooms and an awesome view of the lake. There are also mid-sized cottages for those who have smaller groups or don't need as many amenities. However, even if you're staying in an RV, there are still amenities available to you.
"We have everything here at Pinewood, from full hookup sites that can fit any size rig down to no hookup tent sites," Saunders says. "We have three full service restrooms, two dump stations, cable television to a majority of our sites, and even a full time RV service professional to help keep your RV running the way it should."
Specific amenities include: Wi-Fi hotspot, cable TV with more than 70 channels, water hookups, sewer hookups, RV storage, showers, fax and copy services, rental units, daily newspapers, laundry, snack bar, a library, firewood, ice, groceries, boating and horseshoes as recreational activities.
"We also run all sorts of activities, such as craft classes, sports tournaments, scavenger hunts, dances, free bingo and special events on our themed weekends," Saunders says. "Luau Weekend, Halloween, Christmas in July and Western Weekend are some of our biggest themed weekends. Events for these weekends include line dancing, Luau party by the lake, site decorating contests and a visit from Santa himself."
Pinewood Lodge sits on 200 acres in a white pine forest and has 300 shaded campsites. The lake is a 50-acre fresh water lake that guests can boat on or play in, including fishing for bass. The property has all the makings for a simple getaway or an exciting family vacation. To make a reservation, visit the Pinewood Lodge website.
