Yoga for You 26and2 Offers Bikram for Total Physical, Mental Health

Yoga for You 26and2 is a Dedham, MA Bikram yoga studio and inspired by the movement of Bikram: 26 postures with two breathing exercises. Bikram yoga highlights these poses and breaths in a very specific order to combat stress and negative lifestyle habits. Owner Diane Gardner was the first graduate of the Bikram Yoga College of India to open a studio in the state.

"It's challenging for beginners, as well as long-time practitioners," Gardner said. "We have more than 25 classes a week and are open 365 days a year. The staff consists of dedicated professionals from all walks of life that have been inspired to teach yoga and they gladly offer support to each student on their path to better health."

Classes are offered at all different times of the day, so early birds can attend the 5:30 a.m. class and night owls can sweat during the 7:00 p.m. class. The room is kept at 105 degrees, which increases heart rates, reduces blood pressure and encourages the body to release toxins, among many other benefits.

"The purpose of yoga on the physical level is to increase strength, flexibility and balance," Gardner said. "On the mental level, you develop faith, self-control, determination, concentration and patience."

Students of all levels can attend a Bikram yoga class at Yoga for You. The series of poses is a beginner series that every person can do. The more classes you attend, the more improvement in strength and flexibility you will see, according to Yoga for You.

"Everyone benefits by reducing their stress when they practice yoga," Gardner said. "Yoga is one of the best ways to heal back injuries and to help keep the spine healthy as we get older. Some students say they keep coming back because of the mental clarity that comes from practicing yoga."

Yoga for You asks that new students arrive to class ten minutes prior to the start, as classes begin promptly and the door remains locked for the duration. All classes are 90 minutes and a single drop-in is $17. New students can opt for a one-time special of $25 for one week of unlimited yoga.
