Cranberry Vine Catering Does It for the Love of Food

In addition to staffing the traditional wedding, corporate, and holiday party scene, Cranberry Vine Catering in Pembroke also offers takeout and delivery to hordes of loyal clients. Owner Kathryn Hackett's commitment to sourcing local foods is evident throughout her business and in her menu.

The fresh, flavorful ingredients around which Hackett develops her recipes come from local farms and are served only when they are in season. Some regional favorites include corn, kale, squash, pumpkin, and cranberries, elements which appear frequently in her dishes. A Sauchuk Farm community supported agriculture share in nearby Plympton brings in the freshest seasonal produce each week. Hackett also buys from Cretinon Farm in Kingston, Sauchuk Farm in Plympton and DaSilva Farm ( for chicken ) in Berkley, Ma as well as from farmers markets and farm stands nearby.

The kitchen at Cranberry Vine Catering operates strictly on a "from-scratch" basis, which makes it easy to integrate fresh produce. Buying in bulk from her suppliers means that Hackett needs to store some of her seasonal vegetables and fruits by pickling or dry freezing. That makes it easy to have them on hand later on in the year.

"We are proud to work with local farms and dairies in order to provide the finest foods that are comprised of the freshest ingredients, while also crafting an artistic presentation that best suits your event" Hackett said. "We offer a full range of custom menus, extraordinary service and an exceptional attention to detail, be it [for] a large gala, or an intimate dinner."

Cranberry Vine doesn't like to be exclusive when it comes to the range of cuisines they serve. American, French, Greek, Italian, and Middle Eastern recipes are prevalent on the constantly evolving event menu. With ample selections of seafood, pork, beef, lamb, and poultry, Cranberry Vine doesn't cut corners when it comes to variety and quality.

Just reading through the list of stationary hors d'oeuvres, it's enough to peak your interest. Some of their culinary masterpieces include the mushroom and hazelnut pate with cornichons, whole baked brie with cranberry compote, and roast pork with honey mustard on brioche rolls. If you should opt for their passed hors d'oeuvres, try their famed sautéed figs with honey and pinot noir served in pastry cups with Stilton cheese or the spicy corn cakes with pepper jelly and cilantro lime cream.

"Cranberry Vines brings a staff with decades of experience and a commitment to perfection that sets us apart," Hackett said. "We take pride in our passion for what we do, our attention to detail and the quality of the food we have learned to prepare over a combined 40 years in the business."
