Sisters of Solace Healing Center in Westport, MA is a place for men and women to experience total relaxation through therapeutic massage, chakra balancing, ear candling and more, including a new type of service called Raindrop Therapy. The business name is a nod to the owners, Dora Kirby and Christine Dobyna, biological sisters, who founded the facility in 2006 to provide physical, mental, emotional and spiritual support.
"Our job is to make sure that every person is helped to their highest and best good," Dobyna said. "We also wanted to offer everyone a place of peace, tranquility and relaxation."
With a wide variety of offerings, Sisters of Solace Holistic Healing Center can offer full-body relaxation. Ms.Kirby specializes in swedish, deep tissue, chair and hot stone massages. Dobyna said women who are expecting a baby, are able to come by and feel relief from many side effects of pregnancy. Such as, relieving back pain and pelvic pain, reducing edema and more. This also helps the expectant Mom to relax.
Reflexology which is offered with Ms. Kirby, works with the pressure points of the hands, and feet. Giving a calm and intentional message to the nervous system to improve or correct physical and emotional stresses.
Paraffin wax treatments are another service that guests can use to feel relief from pain in their hands, feet, joints and muscles. This type of treatment involves dipping hands and/or feet in heated paraffin wax in which the heat is then transferred to the areas of pain, therefore increasing circulation and relaxing the muscles.
The facility recently added a new service called Raindrop Therapy, performed by Kirby. Raindrop technique is a powerful technique using essential oils that was developed by D. Gary Young in the 1980s. It combines several modalities to bring balance and transformation. It also supports body systems on a physical and emotional level.
Other unique services offered through Sisters of Solace Holistic Healing Center are readings, reiki (Dobyna is a Reiki Master/Teacher), ear candling (a technique used to remove earwax), and crystal healing. The center also offers many different events and classes.
The center is open Tuesday through Saturday and guests can make an appointment for any of their services. Walk ins are welcome. To find rates for each service offered through Sisters of Solace Holistic Healing Center, visit www.sistersofsolace.net.
